Paperwork needed

To be able to put a doctor forward for a job, we will need the following:

  1. GMC number

  2. Full serology reports from a laboratory, stating Hepatitis B immunity. Surgical specialities sometimes also require Hepatitis C status and it may become a requirement to indicate HIV status in future.

  3. Copy of photo page of passport and copy of visa, where applicable.

  4. Written and signed references from 3 doctors you have worked with (in English). If you have NHS experience, then NHS references are preferable.

  5. Police check issued in your country (in English). If you have worked in the UK before, then we will also need a CRB disclosure.

  6. Evidence of medical protection or insurance. For work in the NHS this is not compulsory, but recommended. For private RMO work this is compulsory. Please note that policies from outside the UK often do NOT give you adequate cover. We recommend British insurance. For more information, see our useful links page.

  7. For RMO & Police surgeon jobs, ALS & PALS are the minimum requirements and we will need a copy of your certificate(s). For more details on the Life Support certificates, see www.erc.edu or in Poland www.ratownictwo.pl
